THE FILM

"The Little Western Short

with a Big Western Heart"

A western-short, set in 1874 - 75, “The Four Horsemen” follows the exploits of a notorious and vicious outlaw gang hell bent on thieven' and killin' anyone who gets in their way. When they push the local law too far, the townsfolk are forced to call in reinforcements.

The Four Horsemen, comprised of four US Marshals of various backgrounds, join together to put an end to the lawlessness and restore order.

It becomes more than enforcing the law for the Marshals when their friend the Sheriff encounters this dangerous gang of outlaws.  Now it’s personal and the lines of justice and revenge become blurred where sometimes you can’t tell the difference.

The Marshals hunt their prey relentlessly and without mercy.   However, the outlaws aren’t ordinary prey… they have teeth and might just bite back.

The Four Horsemen implements the typical 60’s and 70’s western formula and in many ways emulates the westerns of our youth.

FUN FACTS

"Even though we are a small film, we had some pretty impressive elements to create this western."

Fun Fact #1

Over 300 blanks were expended to create

the gunfights and shootouts!

Fun Fact #2

We had 11 horses in this film, which is actually a lot for an independent Western. Trying to get all the horses and riders coordinated and on set was quite a production. Even more

difficult was getting the horses to follow the script

Fun Fact #3

The Four Horsemen was filmed in a full sized replica

1880s style western town in Bremen, Georgia

Fun Fact #4:

Currently we are working with a well known country/southern rock band recording the original theme song written by Joey Garland.

. They will also put the final touches on the film

with an original soundtrack.

ON SET

Filmed over 5 weekends in various locations around northwest Georgia, this is a western short with a southern flare.  Though not intended to portray any particular location, it was filmed in a replica old west style town, rolling hills, open fields and forest trails.  The scenery easily captures the feel of Wyoming, Arkansas, or even parts of Texas.  We were fortunate to obtain such great locations as well as a dedicated cast and crew.

Filming hours were long and arduous and we had typical southern summer weather - downright hot and humid, but there wasn’t a time when anyone requested

a rest or wanted to throw in the towel.

With a cast full of "real deal" cowboys, the riding and shooting are as real is it gets.   The horses utilized were not the typical perfectly trained Hollywood horses, they had real horse attitudes and though at times frustrating to the riders, provided great action for film and added tremendous realism.

Even riding horses with attitudes, our experienced cowboys were able to accomplish riding stunts in the first few takes, which is rare in the film industry.

The most extraordinary part of filming was the synergy between cast and crew members.  The mix of talents on set created the perfect storm for film quality and completion, with each individual bringing a key skill necessary for success, and any element removed from the equation would have greatly diminished the outcome.
